Categories

STAGE X offers categories for individuals, doubles, and teams. Choose the one that best matches how you want to race.

It’s just you and the challenge ahead. Complete the entire race on your own and take full responsibility for your performance from start to finish.

Race - The Race category is designed for athletes who want to compete at their highest level, fight for podium positions, and measure themselves against the best. It is intended for participants seeking maximum performance, head-to-head competition, and the opportunity to achieve the best possible result. Rankings and finishing positions are a key part of the race experience. The top three athletes in each division are awarded: Men / Women / 18–29 / 30–39 / 40–49 / 50+.

Open - The Open category is available to athletes aged 18–99 and is designed for anyone looking to challenge themselves, improve their fitness, and experience STAGE X without the pressure of podium competition. It is the ideal choice for first-time participants, recreational athletes, and anyone who wants to complete the course at their own pace. All participants receive an official finish time and are included in the results, but no podium ceremonies or awards are held in this category. The Open category may feature shorter distances or fewer repetitions at selected stations. Exact specifications are defined in the rules of each event.

Fun - The Fun category is designed for everyone who wants to experience the atmosphere of STAGE X without pressure, strict competition, or performance expectations. It is perfect for beginners, families, groups of friends, and anyone looking to enjoy the event in a relaxed way. Participants are not required to complete every workout station or running segment. If a station feels too challenging or a participant simply chooses not to complete it, they may skip it and continue along the course without penalty.

Both athletes complete every running segment together. At the workout stations, the required work can be divided between teammates in any proportion. However, only one athlete may work at a time. Once the station is completed, both athletes continue to the next running segment together. The Doubles category is available in the following divisions: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles.

Each team consists of four athletes, who divide the running segments and workout stations among themselves according to their own strategy. Every team member must complete two running segments and two workout stations. Only one athlete may compete at a time, and all stations must be completed in the correct order and in accordance with the race rules. A dedicated relay exchange zone is provided for athlete handovers throughout the race.

Stations

STAGE X combines running and stations into one competitive race experience. Each format is built around alternating running segments and fitness challenges that test endurance, strength, and resilience.

The flagship X8 format features the same eight stations and eight running segments at every event. X4 and X6 offer shorter race experiences with different station combinations, making STAGE X accessible to both newcomers and seasoned athletes.

Running segments connect the workout stations into one race format. After each station, athletes must return to their running rhythm and push on to the next challenge.

On the SkiErg, athletes complete a prescribed distance using a movement inspired by cross-country skiing. Success depends on efficient technique, consistent rhythm, and the ability to maintain a high level of power output from the first meter to the last.

Sled Push consists of pushing a weighted sled back and forth along a marked track. The exercise primarily engages the legs, glutes, core, and shoulders. It is one of the disciplines where an athlete’s true strength is put on full display.

Athletes pull a weighted sled toward themselves using a rope. This discipline combines back, arm, and grip strength with efficient full-body coordination to move the sled as quickly as possible.

This discipline combines repeated burpees with a forward broad jump. Each repetition moves the athlete closer to the end of the designated section. Success depends on smooth movement, efficient technique, and the ability to maintain pace despite increasing fatigue.

On the rowing ergometer, the goal is to complete the prescribed distance as quickly as possible. Success depends on efficient rowing technique, strong leg drive, and the ability to manage energy effectively throughout the effort.

Farmer’s Carry tests grip strength, core stability, and the ability to move efficiently under load. Often, success is determined not only by strength, but also by the determination to keep the kettlebells off the ground.

Athletes cover a prescribed distance using alternating forward lunges. The sandbag carried on the shoulders increases the difficulty of every step, requiring balance, stability, and precise movement control throughout the exercise.

The signature discipline with the best atmosphere. The true spice of fitness racing. Wall Balls combine a squat with throwing a medicine ball to a target. This is where overall race times are often won or lost.
